Encouragement for the Journey

These encouragements and scriptures were sent to me the morning of Day 3 at the hospital:

“And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45 KJV

“Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. The beasts of the field will honor Me, Jackals and ostriches, Because I have given waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. The people whom I formed for Myself Will make known My praise.” Isaiah 43:18-21 AMP

“Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it?
Don’t look back- not even to yesterday. For I am doing a NEW thing. Perceive it with your spirit. I’m IN this! And your joy will be full!”

These encouragements were so timely… be encouraged!!

When Words of encouragement and scriptures were sent- everytime it was exactly what I needed in that moment. I kept them all and repeated them to Kayden and to myself. I would read them to Kayden and base our prayers on some of them.

This one right here… THERE SHALL BE A PERFORMANCE.  This encouraging word I heard repeatedly and was reminded of it repeatedly by the Lord, as well as my leader who sent it. I had to stand on that word. No matter what the doctors and nurses said, no matter what it looked like, no matter our surroundings (the hospital at the time)… my Abba said there will be a performance. Why?

1- Because I believed.

2- Because of His promises to me

When it was sent to me, I didn’t grab hold of it fully. It wasn’t until the day treatment started (day 11 in the hospital) that I fully understood what that meant for me. God’s performance looks nothing like what we expect many times. We pray for miracles, then we expect it a certain way. But He’s performing it.

My stance became- I don’t know how you’re going to do it, but I’m believing you will heal Your Son. This was when I stopped calling Kayden my son. He’s not mine. He’s Abba’s. I tacked on this scripture and stayed right there:

“Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” Matthew 18:14 NKJV

Everything I’d know and been taught in the Word and in church… it all had to kick in gear at that moment. My faith had to increased based on His words and promises to me. So I believed Him, and I began to pray as if I did, with eyes on Jesus.

Recently, my pastor told me – “The prayer life is the performance. The Lord performs His work.”

Wow. How true that is? We in ourselves can do nothing, but God can do all things. I cannot heal Kayden. The doctors cannot heal Kayden. But God… so my performance is to pray and stand in faith. The Lord takes it from there.

I firmly believe the performance is not just in my household. Increase your faith. Take His word as truth and life. I’m praying for you.  I pray the Lord shall perform miracles, signs, and wondered all over this community of believers.

 Lesson in the Journey:

Everyday there’s been a performance because everyday is a miracle..

Pray for others.

When Healing Comes Different

Reflections on the journey: At the beginning in the hospital, we continually had faith. We believed that Kayden did not have Leukemia. We also believed that he would not need treatment.
